The I Have A Dream (IHAD) organization has "adopted" an entire class of at-risk children here in the Des Moines area and they provide an extraordinary amount of resources to these kids throughout their school years, culminating in paying for the post-secondary education of their choice! The results so far are very encouraging. The very first IHAD effort in the Des Moines area achieved 81 percent graduation rate, nearly double the rate of other comparible children in the same school district.

 

We are very excited to work with this organization and support their mission of helping at-risk kids graduate and have better opportunities in their lives.

Great race!!! We had perfect weather for running followed by the fantastic, funky Faculty Lounge band! Thanks to all those who came out to run, support their favorite runner(s) or just to enjoy the Palmer's Deli food and watch the band. Special thanks to Living History Farms and the Contributor's Breakfast Club for putting on the event. We're making plans for next year's race so keep an eye out for 2013 race information.
